Lumen Print 10 by allistella
Lumen Print 10
Photo 1
After the clean approach of the last one, and with only a enough time for one more, I things got a little crazy. For this one I completely wet the photo paper, then added a combination of peroxide, fresh cyanotype, and tannic acid. I let that sit for a bit then it was back to the sink where I wet it agin, and sprayed it with developer. Then i added some patches of oxidized cyanotype, and blotted those around with a paper towel to spread them in strange directions. I let this one dry a while while I did the chemistry for Lumen Print 9 actually, then blotted it with a paper towel to get rid of any leftover wet spots. (There may have also been some bleach added somewhere along the way...)

After the chaos of the last one, I figured out what chemicals I wanted to use and came up with a more controlled composition.
This is both oxidized and fresh cyanotype which was allowed to dry except for a few places, then dabbed carefully within the stripes.

Lumen Print 8 (Test Strips)
Photo 1
I exposed these all together just to get some idea of what processes I liked.
From top to bottom:

1. I first dripped tannic acid from one side and let that dry. I went back and sprayed it with bleach and let that sit.

2. This one I striped it with fresh cyanotype, let that dry for a bit, sprayed that with developer, rinsed that off, and finally sprayed it with bleach.

3. This one is just crazy designs with oxidized and fresh cyanotype.

4. This one was striped with peroxide and allowed to dry.

I wanted to expose these dry buy they were taking forever, so I dabbed them with a paper towel which is where any stray texture comes from.

This is my overall favorite out of all of my lumens. I used a mixture of oxidized cyanotype and fresh cyanotype. It remains a mystery as to why the paper turned white with exposure. My professor has no idea what caused that.

Photo 1 - Begin day two of lumens
This one was haphazardly sprayed with developer, rinsed and exposed wet. It was a test to see if I could get any kind of detail from this flower. I was using a different frame.
